As senior engineer on the payments platform, I hold end-to-end ownership of the systems that move and account for customer money. The headline project was rebuilding reconciliation from a manual process into a real-time engine, but the role is as much about the team and the standards as the code.
What I did there
Led the reconciliation rebuild
Architected and shipped Ledgerline, the streaming reconciliation engine that cut settlement lag from three days to forty seconds. Owned the design from the state-machine model through the on-call runbook.
Grew and steadied a team of four
Run design reviews, mentor two mid-level engineers, and set the platform's testing and observability bar. Turnover on the team went to zero over the last year and the on-call load dropped as the systems got more predictable.
Made correctness auditable
Pushed the platform toward append-only audit logs and idempotent processing so that 'why did this happen?' is always answerable — the standard that made the payments systems something regulators and finance could trust.
